Learners do not need to be online at the same time in order to access the learning content. Asynchronous learning is one tool of an LMS and allows for flexible use of the course content.

Acronym for Extended Enterprise. An extended enterprise LMS has multiple learning portal capabilities. An EE LMS is used to integrate and organize several individual learning systems. It can unify Learning Management Systems within one organization, or can work between organizations that want a unified administration of their LMS’s.

Ancronym for Instructor Led Training. ILT is often contrasted with WBT (Web-Based Training) to mean live training in a physical classroom, with one person leading the class. It can also refer more generically to training led by one person in either a physical classroom or a web-based virtual classroom.
