Early Childhood Education Assistance Program – along with Developmental Preschool, Early Learning Preschool, and Head Start preschool programs – provides free services to eligible children and families. The programs help preschool-age children prepare to enter kindergarten ready to succeed.

English Language Learners – Sheltered Instruction (SI) is an approach used to teach language and content to students who don’t speak English as a first language. Academic subjects are taught using English as the medium of instruction.

End of Course state proficiency math and biology tests for students in grades 7-12. EOCs allow students to be tested on the knowledge and skills they’ve gained from a specific course right when they finish it rather than on a comprehensive test such as the High School Proficiency Exam (HSPE) given later that assesses overall knowledge.

Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs) provide children with academic coaching; non-classroom and/or supervised activities beyond the traditional school day.
